Multipath Routing for Mobile Ad Hoc Network

چکیده
Multipath routing allows the establishment of multiple paths between a pair of source and destination node in mobile ad hoc network. It is typically proposed in order to increase the reliability of data transmission or to provide load balancing and has received more and more attentions. In this paper, we present a multipath source routing protocol with some QoS guarantee. During the routing discovery, the source node firstly checks whether it has the routing information to the destination node. If not, it begins to broadcast RREQs to its neighborhoods and finally to the destination. From the received RREQs, the destination node can construct a certain topology for network and the path that is maximally disjoint from the shortest delay path is selected as our desirable routing. Simulation results show that comparing with traditional unipath routing scheme, the proposed protocol can greatly increases the packet delivery rate and extend the life-span of network.

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

Mobile Ad-hoc network is a continuously self-configuring, infrastructure less wireless network consisting of mobile device. An energy efficient protocol is important in design of Ad-hoc network because the nodes in Ad-hoc networks operate in limited battery energy and it is not possible to recharge or replace the battery. A shortest path is always selected in Ad-hoc networks by conventional rou...
متن کاملExtended Disjoint Multipath Routing Protocol for the Ad Hoc Wireless Network
The ad hoc network consists of mobile hosts which communicate with each other by radio media. The mobile host must route data to the host within the radio range by hopping to the destination host. Since the hosts are mobile and the network topology is variable, routing protocols have been an important research issue in the network area. On-demand routing protocol is an efficient protocol in the...
